OSINT tools

Which OSINT tool should you use?

Choose by the identifier you are holding. An email address goes to the Email Footprint Finder; a username to the Social Media Finder or the availability checker; a domain to the Website Owner Finder, which pulls WHOIS, contact details and analytics identifiers together. Domain Age, Reverse IP and Hosting Detector are supporting checks — they rarely answer a question alone but they corroborate or contradict what the primary tools return. Treat every match as a lead to verify, not a fact.

OSINT tools — common questions

How reliable is a username match across platforms?
It confirms that the handle exists on that platform, nothing more. Common handles are held by different people on different sites, so a match is a starting point for verification rather than an identification.
Is any of this private data?
No. Everything here reads publicly published sources — WHOIS records, public profiles, DNS, and archived pages. Nothing requires a login and no breach data is exposed.
Why does WHOIS show a privacy service instead of an owner?
Most registrars now enable WHOIS privacy by default, and GDPR removed personal details from European records entirely. The registrar and dates remain accurate; the contact block usually does not identify the owner.
